One Page RPG - Modern Magic
A downloadable game
There is a secret part of town that you’ve only dreamed about. It has no doors, no streets or alleyways; an invitation from an initiate is the only key, and the gate of knowledge only opens one-way.
Yesterday, you shared a drink with a man. He laughed at your jokes, and his fingers lingered when he touched the back of your hand. When you went to sleep, alone in your own bed, you could still feel his touch burning on your skin.
When you awoke today, you found the door to the secret part of town. It was a plain door painted a garish shade of orange; you have no idea how you never noticed it. The homeless man sitting outside the door—you’ve passed him a hundred times now, every other day on your way to work; you’ve even given him money sometimes—gives you a nod that is profound in its shared secret knowing. You stand upon the threshold, and you hesitate.
What does the city dream about when it sleeps? Welcome to the occult underground: the hidden side of the world that defies rationality, that spits in the face of science, and denies the existence and possibility of empiricism. Listen to the man yelling at the sky about badgers; look into the empty pram in the hallway of an abandoned house; study the graffitied glyphs upon empty train carriages. These are where the secret truths of Modern Magic are held.

I really enjoyed reading through these rules! But my stomach sank when you casually introduced cancer as a harmful game mechanic :/ I might give this a try with some friends after masking out that line.
Thanks for the TW!
